“Let’s Be More”

To a certain extent, I think many of us like to see ourselves as Adventure Seekers. It’s a fun and thrilling picture to think of shouting “Carpe Diem!” at the top of our lungs right as we hit the top of the roller coaster, or spontaneously skip towards the bend in the road –

But sometimes… sometimes we’ve had one too many injuries, one hour too less of sleep, one walk too far from the path (yet again). And if only for a brief moment, we wonder – what would it be like if…?

If I didn’t have to take the long way around?

If I didn’t get lost?

If I didn’t have to deal with constant, pesky mosquitoes and sunburns and thistles?

Or at least, what if I could be guaranteed that at the end of every night, I could lay my head down on a warm, comfortable pillow with airy, wrap-around-me sheets?

We Know the journey is for a purpose.

We Know we will grow so much on the way.

We Know that, at the end, it will be worth every bite, scratch, and sweaty minute.

But that doesn’t mean, there aren’t Moments.

And that’s okay.

That’s OKAY.

Because it is in those moments – when we just want to sit down, stay in, and stop following the unforeseen around the bend in the road – that we learn to lean on Him the most.

It’s here where we learn to encourage one another, and build communities, and Be Church – coming together to remind each other of where our journey is headed, and Who is leading the way.

It’s here where we come to see just how much He truly loves us, wanting nothing but the best view for His children.

But sometimes, it’s the best view that takes the longest, sweatiest journey.

So let’s be more than Adventurers –

Let’s go beyond Wildest Dreams and Pinterest Trends and Instagram photos.

Let’s be Alive: Encouraging, Falling, and Getting-Back-Up Alive.

Especially through the Moments.
