Just When You Need It

Some days, it’s hard to get up.

It’s hard to put aside the worries and future concerns.

It’s hard to stop wishing things were different.

It’s hard not to resent when things don’t go our way.

On Monday morning, for the first time since early autumn, I woke up before school to see the first tints of a sunrise. That may seem little, but for a winter recluse like myself – it’s a turning point. A climax. A new page.

Just when I needed it.

That little squeezy-hug moment to remind me that everything’s not only going to be okay – it’s going to be indescribably amazing.

And I am so incredibly grateful for those “just when I needed it” moments.

Because the reality is, some days the heart refuses to acknowledge what the head knows as Truth:
We are loved.
We are blessed.
We are His.

…And Today is beautiful.

Just when you need it.
